Why clear hose

You can see what is in it. That sounds trivial until you are purging an air line, watching for a blockage, checking whether fuel or coolant is actually flowing, or bleeding a system and waiting for the bubbles to stop. For diagnostics and for any job where flow needs to be confirmed visually, clear is worth having.

Clear PVC is also the standard choice for a water level — fill it with water and the surface at each end sits at exactly the same height, which lets you transfer a level around a corner or across a room with no instrument at all.

Choosing a size

• Wall thickness matters as much as bore. The 1.00mm sizes are light duty; the 2.00mm wall resists kinking and takes more pressure.
• Measure the fitting, not the pipe. Hose is sized by internal diameter, so match it to the spigot it must push over.
• PVC stiffens when cold and softens in heat — keep it out of long-term direct sun where you can.
• Check pressure suitability before using it for anything beyond low-pressure water, air or drainage.
