A word on standards. Singapore runs 230V at 50Hz on the three-pin BS 1363 plug. Fittings and accessories should carry the Safety Mark where the regulations require it, and cable should be sized to the load and the run length rather than to what is cheapest on the shelf.
Extension reels deserve one caution: unwind the cable fully before drawing heavy current. A coiled reel under load heats up inside the drum, and that is how they catch fire.
Anything beyond replacing a fitting on an existing circuit should go to a licensed electrician.
