Marble is not concrete
This wheel is specified for marble and that distinction is worth respecting. Stone is harder and far more brittle than concrete, so a wheel built for slab work will chip the edge and can crack the piece. The segmented wave profile keeps the rim cool and clearing while staying close enough to continuous to leave a tidy edge on stone.
Cutting stone without ruining the piece
- Support the full width of the slab. Marble breaks under its own weight once the cut passes the halfway point.
- Score the face first with a shallow pass, then cut through. That single step prevents most chipping along the visible edge.
- Let the wheel cut. Pushing a diamond wheel into stone does not speed it up; it overheats the rim and chips the material.
- Ease off at the end of the cut where break-out happens.
- Tape along the cut line on polished faces for extra protection.
Before fitting
Check the bore — this wheel is supplied for 20mm with a 16mm option — and check the maximum speed marked on the wheel against your grinder. Stone dust is a respiratory hazard; mask up and use water suppression or extraction where you can.
